Oak is a 7yo OTTB who was surrendered to us in 2020 after having 8 starts on the track. He is very sensible and level headed, and loves to have a job! He is playful in his paddock, but comes right down to business when it’s time to work. Oak has exceptional ground manners and loves attention.
Oak had a paddock injury back in 2022, and was given a year off to allow his body to heal and continue to mature. He has been in our strength training and rehabilitation program for about a year now, and has been comfortable and sound walk/trot under saddle. He will move up to cantering under saddle when our trainer feels he is ready. He has comfortable gaits and is very sensible. He would benefit from an intermediate to experienced rider and handler to continue his education and rehabilitation. We believe he would do well in a low level dressage, western pleasure, or trail riding home.
Oak is UTD on everything and wears front shoes. He did receive stifle injections this past year, which he responded well to. He lives outside 24/7 in a gelding herd.
Available for adoption to the perfect home that understands additional rehabilitation is required.
