Current assessment and status: In Training
Sammy is a very level-headed young horse. He had an unfortunate encounter with barbed wire when he was very young and he has permanent scarring on his legs, but the incident hasn’t affected his soundness. Sammy adores people and attention and will follow you around the paddock. He has been lightly started under saddle w/t due to his age. He crossties and stands well for grooming and tacking. He enjoys hacking around the field with other horses. He would love a paddock mate to play with.
September 2022 Trainer Update: Sammy is great to work around, he is lunging nicely and working under saddle at the walk and trot lightly. He will need a soft-handed rider with experience training young green horses or working with a trainer. He is continuing to work on our trail course and desensitizing to new things. Sammy is willing, kind, and a very good boy.
Sammy is not for beginners. He is a young horse that needs someone to continue with his training or under professional training supervision.
