Rockport Queen ‘Queenie’ – OTTB Mare

Queenie is a 2021 OTTB mare who breezed at the track, but never raced. She loves people, is very curious and has a great brain.

Queenie is the whole package – she is stunning, sweet and has the best personality – she meets you at the gate, is game to do anything, and she follows you around like a puppy. Queenie is green, but has a solid restart under her. She participated in the Summer and Fall Pipestave horse trials, completing both respectable dressage tests and a two phase – where she jumped everything that she was pointed at without batting an eye. She has also popped over a couple cross country jumps with the same ‘can do’ attitude. Queenie took part in the spring Boyd Martin clinic, being ridden both in the indoor and a busy outdoor, where she jumped her first jumps ever, and completed her first course, complete with a bounce, line and jumps with fillers, first try. Queenie has been off property alone and in a group setting, is happy to lead or follow, and is not spooky. She hacks around the field at NEER North solo, WTC and is a pleasure to ride.

Queenie does occasionally remember that she is only 4, and will sometimes pop up when being led. All other times she is easy to handle on the ground. Queenie has been such a pleasure to bring along, and watch her succeed every step of the way.

She loads, crossties, and stands to be brushed and bathed. She is great for the vet, is UTD on everything. She currently lives outside 24/7 and gets along well with other horses. She is currently barefoot – although she may benefit from shoes, as she tends to get foot sore on harder surfaces. Queenie has all the makings to be successful in her second career. She will need an experienced horse person to continue to bring her along, but the sky is the limit with this one!
