Rockport Queen ‘Queenie’ – OTTB Mare

Rockport Queen (Queenie) is a 2021 OTTB (Off the Track Thoroughbred) mare with a heart as big as her potential. She’s ready for a new chapter in her second career, and she’s waiting for someone special to guide her along the way.

 About Queenie:

• Breezed but never raced—she’s ready to be restarted your way!
• Curious and loves people.
• Good brain: Smart, not spooky, loves having a job.
• Groundwork ready: Queenie lunges, long lines, and has been sat on a couple of times here at Neer North.
• Easy to work with: Loads, cross ties, stands for brushing and bathing, and great for the farrier and vet. Still learning about boundaries.
• Up-to-date on everything.

Queenie currently lives outside 24/7 and gets along well with other horses. She is barefoot but may benefit from shoes, as she can get foot sore on harder surfaces. 

 Special Note: Queenie is a young OTTB who requires an owner with knowledge of kissing spine and experience in rehabbing horses with this condition. This mare has so much to give, and with the right care and training, she’ll be ready to shine in her second career.
