Current assessment and status: In Training
Lena is a beautiful big-bodied mare who is learning people aren’t so bad with time and lots of positive experiences. We don’t know a lot about her history other than that she lived with her mother and brother for the majority of her life. We believe she received very little positive socialization (either with horses or people) until coming to NEER. Because of this, she requires a special experienced home and must not be in an enclosure with other horses.
Lena is a very easy keeper, barefoot, and is serviceably sound for trail riding and light ringwork. She is very brave and not spooky and is currently hacking out with other horses and doing some light walk/trot under saddle. She responds well to positive reinforcement and gentle in-hand groundwork and is good for, cross-tieing, brushing and tacking.
She is looking for a special, experienced person to bond with.
