Otis is a 17yo QH/Morgan cross. He was surrendered to us back in 2020. He stands at 14.3hh, and although he is pretty laid back, he does have a bit of a large pony attitude. He has been passed around a lot previously, so it does take time for him to build trust in new people. Once he gets to know you he is a very sweet boy and enjoys quality time with his people.
Otis goes WTC under saddle, english or western, and has three comfortable gaits. He fluctuates between being behind the leg to in front of the leg, so does need an intermediate rider to help him find his balance. Otis hacks around the field solo, and enjoys hitting the trails. He has not had the opportunity to be tried out on the trails by himself, but has done well when trail riding with another horse.
Otis has a history of stifle synovitis in his right hind leg, which makes him suitable for a pleasure riding home only – no heavy work please! Otis is on equioxx daily, and is otherwise an easy keeper. He is middle man in our big group of geldings.
Otis has a lot to offer to the right person, and we cannot wait for him to find his match!
Please note potential adopters with pre-approved applications on file will get priority on new horses – we strongly recommend you fill out an application to get pre-approved.
